Year

2024

Ellen Garrison was an American patriot who fought for the expansion of freedom, education, and equality. She became the first Concord Public Schools alumna and the first person of color in nearly 400 years to have a public building in Concord named in her honor.

Challenge

Stand Up for Ellen is a movement created to celebrate her legacy and Concord’s historic progress. We were tasked with producing a video that highlighted Ellen’s life, achievements, and the importance of Article 22, a proposal to name the new middle school after her.

Result

In spring 2024, the Town of Concord came together and overwhelmingly passed Article 22. Ellen Garrison now holds a lasting place in Concord’s history — a powerful symbol of courage, equality, and hope for future generations.
